NON FOOD ITEMS PROJECT
The
routine mortar attacks, indiscriminate heavy artillery shells
and the related insecurity that spread across Mogadishu has made
in the capital uneasy one and more dangerous place to live in.
As a result, for the past two months, almost 200,000 people have
fled Mogadishu due to the fighting and the number of displaced
continues to increase daily.
Moreover, the living condition of the fleeing IDPs is deteriorating
due to the lack of basic subsistence needs such as food, shelter,
water and medicine. Currently over 40 thousand people in hawa
abdi, Eelasha, Lafoole and afgooye town area are in humanitarian
emergency.
Direct Beneficiaries: Approximately 9,000 internally
displaced families (of whom Approximately 75% are women and children)
in lower & middle shablle regions will be targeted by the
project will give special consideration to women and children.
